Sleep well
A tattoo session takes energy. Rested skin and a clear head make the appointment noticeably easier.
Before your appointment
No complicated ritual: get enough sleep, eat properly, wear practical clothes and let your body recover from the night before.

Checklist
Always follow Steven's personal instructions; they take precedence over general advice.
A tattoo session takes energy. Rested skin and a clear head make the appointment noticeably easier.
Do not arrive on an empty stomach. Eat a normal meal and bring water and quick energy for a longer session.
Avoid alcohol and drugs for at least 24 hours. They can affect blood clotting, skin and judgement.
Choose loose, clean clothes that expose the area easily and may safely receive an ink stain.
Arrive clean, but do not shave the area immediately beforehand unless instructed. Avoid sunburn.
Check names, dates, spelling and source images. Portraits require a sharp, well-lit photograph.
If you are ill, the skin is damaged or you use relevant medication, make contact beforehand.
